I want to buy additional copies to give to friends/family as gifts but Kickstarter will only let me choose a single reward tier. Is there any way around this limitation?
You can add additional Physical books as addons through Kickstarter or later in BackerKit at £40 each.

Can I change my pledge?
Yes, there are two ways you can do this, either whilst the Kickstarter is running, you can click ‘edit pledge’ and adjust accordingly, or alternatively once the Kickstarter has ended you can upgrade to a higher pledge.

When will I be charged?
You are only charged for the pledge at the end of the Kickstarter if we reach funding holding thumbs and then the shipping cost if you have pledged for the physical book will only be charged around July 2022 through BackerKit.

When will I get my book?
Once the final proof and layout of the book has been completed, the digital version of the book will be released to all backers in the relevant tiers, we expect this to be around April 2022. The hard cover edition of the book will start being shipping between July and September 2022.

What if I move during the Kickstarter or my address changes?
You will be able to change your address up until we close delivery address registration which will be towards the end of April/May 2022. Once we have closed the address submission page, your package will be delivered to the last address you provided. You will need to arrange a forwarding address if this happens and you are no longer living at that address.

What if I don't provide an address?
Your book will not be shipped to you. You will then be able to contact us directly and arrange for your book to be shipped at an additional cost to you.

How do the shipping charges work?
Shipping is only charged after the Kickstarter has ended through BackerKit, which is a platform we use to help manage all the pledges as well as ensure you get your rewards delivered to you on time and correctly. We do this to allow for changes of addresses, changes in shipping price which has been highly volatile these last two years due to COVID but also for you to add additional books or extras to your order.

What is BackerKit / Pledge Manager?
BackerKit is a website platform that allows you to manage your pledge after the KickStarter has ended. This allows you to ensure the correct address for your order to be recorded (which can change in the next 6 months), but you can also add any addons, additional books or even upgrade your pledge to a higher tier. Lastly it also us to charge shipping and if any necessary VAT charges closer to the time which will be more accurate as your order may increase in weight.

I’m worried about shipping, what’s the best option for me?
We absolutely understand that shipping can be volatile at the moment, we suggest if you are concerned about shipping, is to pledge for the digital only book, and when we open up the Backerkit to you after the Kickstarter has ended, you can either upgrade to the physical edition tier, (only charging you the difference) or add the book to your pledge, here you can see what the shipping costs will be as well as how shipping is at that time in the world and if you are happy you can then continue with the new tier or simply stay on the digital tier.

Will I be charged VAT or Customs?
We will only add VAT to physical book orders to countries in the European Union, this will be added during the BackerKit process., there will be no other charges other than shipping.
The United States and United Kingdom will not incur any VAT or additional charges, just the shipping cost. For rest of the world, there by be customs or VAT charges when the book arrives in your country, please refer to your own country guidelines.

How are the books sent?
We use a tracked service for the EU, USA, Canada, and UK. Some EU countries may receive their order with DHL Tracked Express. For the rest of the world, we use DHL Tracked Express as we understand that different country postal services may vary in standards, so we want to ensure you get your book. The book is secured in a cardboard box with relevant packaging materials to secure it.

I'm short on funds at the moment. Will Practical Guide be available for purchase after the campaign ends?
Yes, as soon as the Kickstarter campaign ends, you will be able to pre-order either the digital version or the hard copy edition, however the special addons or free stretch goals will no longer be available.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
